Your stop for book proposal, manuscript, and publishing success.
Nonfiction or Fiction: The Book Proposal Writing Service
The Book Proposal Writing service is designed for authors who would like to have a book proposal written for them. The process is still a team effort (between the author and myself) to a certain degree. This can only help the proposal to be as strong as possible.
If nonfiction, the author should have at least two sample chapters and an outline of the manuscript already completed and polished. If fiction, the entire manuscript should be written and in its final stage, then also accompanied by a synopsis. (If you need help with meeting these requirements, we can arrange that.) The descriptions for any subsequent books would also be required.
Then, two or three questionnaires will be presented to the author for completion. This provides the opportunity for me to gather as much relevant information as possible for each section of the proposal.
After that stage, I will:
- write the Overview (but this is completed last)
- research the Competitive Books and Target Markets sections
- write an Author Bio
- design a Promotion Plan to help the author get started on the author platform immediately (if one is not already in place) and project a plan for at least a year after publication
- consider Ancillary Products with the author
- polish any description of the Subsequent Books section, if applicable (An initial summary of each possible follow-up book is requested in advance.)
Cost:
The average estimate of the Book Proposal Writing service is between $2500 to $3500. However, the actual cost for the service may vary with different manuscript projects. To make the most of this service, a Critique of the manuscript should be done first, which would be an additional cost and service. To request a free initial consultation of 15 to 20 minutes and an estimate, please fill out the Contact Form.
Free Proposal Consultation or Sample Edit
After reading the articles (or even before, if you'd like), I'd be happy to provide you with a free initial consultation or provide a sample edit for a manuscript. To set up either, simply:
- Fill out the Contact Form to request a phone appointment (from Lori Lisi).
- Include the status of your manuscript and any submission materials.
- Include several possible time frames to set up a phone appointment.
- If you have a draft of your proposal and/or the first two chapters of your manuscript, please upload that into the form as well.
You will be contacted within 24 to 72 hours. This will allow me the time to review the materials and information you might send before we set up the phone appointment. Please be sure to include times you might be available to set up the appointment.
I'll look forward to speaking with you!
