Your stop for book proposal, manuscript, and publishing success.
Nonfiction or Fiction:
The Book Proposal Critique Service
The Book Proposal Critique service will essentially provide an author with general and specific feedback about an existing book proposal and make suggestions for revison, if necessary. If more than feedback and overall suggestions will be required, we may want to discuss the Book Proposal Coaching service or the Book Proposal Writing service.
For this service, I'll evaluate the following sections:
- the Overview for its attention-grabbing impact and summary of the strongest assets of the project
- the Competitive Books and Target Markets sections for the assessment of the markets and presentation of the most distinquishing aspects of the manuscript project being proposed
- the Author Bio for its ability to present the author as a credible expert or presentation of experience that shows why the author is the best writer to have written the book presented
- the Promotion Plan for its ability to establish or further develop the author platform and show potential for sustained, solid promotion of the book
- the Ancillary Products for their relevance and practical use in promotion and income generation for the project
- the Subsequent Books for their ability to continue the momentum ideally generated with the initial book and lead to the continued interest of the market developed with prior promotional efforts
- the Chapter Outlines (for nonfiction proposals) or Synopsis section (for fiction proposals) for its presentation of the material
- the Sample Chapters for the polish of the writing, adherence to the Chicago Manual of Style, and presentation of the subject matter or story
Cost:
The average estimate of the Book Proposal Critique service is around $0.025 to $0.035 per word. However, the actual cost for the service may vary with different manuscript projects, but an estimate can be provided with a free initial consultation. To make the most of this service, a Critique of the manuscript may need to be done first, which would be an additional cost and service. To request a free initial consultation of 15 to 20 minutes and an estimate, please fill out the Contact Form.
Free Proposal Consultation or Sample Edit
After reading the articles (or even before, if you'd like), I'd be happy to provide you with a free initial consultation or provide a sample edit for a manuscript. To set up either, simply:
- Fill out the Contact Form to request a phone appointment (from Lori Lisi).
- Include the status of your manuscript and any submission materials.
- Include several possible time frames to set up a phone appointment.
- If you have a draft of your proposal and/or the first two chapters of your manuscript, please upload that into the form as well.
You will be contacted within 24 to 72 hours. This will allow me the time to review the materials and information you might send before we set up the phone appointment. Please be sure to include times you might be available to set up the appointment.
I'll look forward to speaking with you!
