Nonfiction or Fiction:
The Book Proposal Coaching
Service

The Book Proposal Coaching service is designed for authors who want to write their proposals themselves, but want guidance for doing so. Maybe they're aware of the elements of a book proposal, and maybe they're not. This service is tailored for either type of author.

In this service, we (the author and I) will cover the sections included in a book proposal, especially:

  • how to organize the sections in a book proposal, such as the Overview, Competitive Books and Target Markets, the Author Bio, the Promotion Plan, Ancillary Products, Chapter Outlines and/or Synopsis, Subsequent Books, and Sample Chapters

  • how to write the Overview and why this should usually be done last

  • how to research the Competitive Books and Target Markets sections

  • how to write an Author Bio

  • how to design a Promotion Plan and why this section is the most important

  • how to consider Ancillary Products

  • how to write the Chapter Outlines and/or Synopsis

  • how to brainstorm for Subsequent Books, if applicable

Cost:

The Book Proposal Coaching service may vary in cost based on the amount of work the author prefers to do or how much the author may already have done on a book proposal. To make the most of this service, a Critique of the manuscript should be done first, which would be an additional cost and service. To request a free initial consultation of 15 to 20 minutes and an estimate, please fill out the Contact Form.

Free Proposal Consultation or Sample Edit

After reading the articles (or even before, if you'd like), I'd be happy to provide you with a free initial consultation or provide a sample edit for a manuscript. To set up either, simply:

  1. Fill out the Contact Form to request a phone appointment (from Lori Lisi).

  2. Include the status of your manuscript and any submission materials.

  3. Include several possible time frames to set up a phone appointment.

  4. If you have a draft of your proposal and/or the first two chapters of your manuscript, please upload that into the form as well.

You will be contacted within 24 to 72 hours. This will allow me the time to review the materials and information you might send before we set up the phone appointment. Please be sure to include times you might be available to set up the appointment.

I'll look forward to speaking with you!
